Sports Photographer captures Chicago Marathon

This weekend I photographed the Chicago Marathon for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s Team to End AIDS (T2). It was a fun experience finding just over 130 runners in a sea of 45,000. At first I thought it was going to be a difficult task, but thanks to the unique design of their jersey, it wasn’t that hard after all.

I’m so glad that I can finally share these images with you now that the ad campaign has been released!

At the end of winter, on a day when the temperature didn’t reach 10 degrees, I needed to create an ad campaign to promote an organization that competes in summertime athletic events to raise money for charity. Even though it was sunny on the day of our shoot, if I dared take the athletes on location, in no time at all it would have resulted in frostbite and frozen pained expressions.

I spent last night trying to stay dry as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the San Francisco Giants following a two-and-half hour rain delay.

South Korea’s Choi Na-yeon survived a tumultuous four-hole stretch after the turn to win her first major title by four shots at the U.S. Women’s Open in Kohler, Wisconsin on Sunday.

I just posted a video I produced with Adam McMath for Rashied Davis Charities. The NFL player’s not for profit seeks to help young students overcome obstacles to success through inspiration, preparation and discipline. A key component for accomplishing this mission is early literacy intervention.
