Headshots: Group Brings It From 1940 To Today

A group of friends recently hired me to do three group shots in studio and on location. Everyone was cool not to fight for the spotlight and all of the compositions came together without a lot of fuss.. although I did hear the word “bitch” a hundred times before noon.

One thing stuck out in my mind this weekend as I was ushered from one place to place by military and State Department personnel: It wasn’t that long ago that I could roam the hallways of McCormick Place freely with then Senator Barack Obama.

The North American Treaty Organazation meeting began today just a five minute walk from my own bed. It was a lot of fun seeing scores of world leaders all in one place and even odder to have them so close to home.

Yesterday was my 9th Kentucky Derby and possibly the steamiest one I remember. It was also my 13th major horse race setting up and operating multiple cameras to capture the finish. This year I used six cameras firing simultaneously to cover the race.

Working Not So High On The Hog

I’ve never had to shower before a shoot, or elect to take one after, but my recent visit to a hog farm in northern Indiana was full of firsts. I was also asked to wear the farms clothes, shoes thankfully a Tyvek jumpsuit. All of which kept me clean and my car ride home pleasant… as you might imagine from the pics.
