Chicago portrait photographer: Before the repatriation of my friend Vic Picolotto to his native Australia, to work for hairdressing giant Tracey Hughes Education, we decided to get in a few Black & White headshot shoots in Chicago while we still could!
I decided to use a variety of hard light sources to sculpt the light for these B&W portraits. However most of the hair is light from above and behind with a softbox.
For the next two images I used a 10-degree grid spot that was masked down to a narrow strip, which I then placed just out of the frame, to highlight the models’ faces.
Hair by Vic Picolotto. Make-up by Diana Arce. Styling by Kenneth Crowder. Models: BMG Models Cori, Toby, Kelsy Sand Joanna. Also featured are Christine, Jordan and Katie Ellis.
