For this look, we wanted to create something playful, colorful, and modern — using continuous light and a bold color palette.
We started by changing the backdrop to a soft powder blue to set a clean, vibrant base. Then, we assembled two lights: a 70cm octabox with an Elinchrom 100C tuned to 280° (magenta), and a 35x100cm strip softbox with another 100C tuned to 180° (teal).
To maximize the output and boost the exposure on our magenta light, I removed the outer diffusion on the 70cm octabox and moved both lights closer together, tightening the spread and intensifying the colors.
Once Samenta stepped onto the set, I took some test frames and fine-tuned the light positions. We added a V-Flat World V-flat on camera left to bounce a little fill into the shadows, keeping the contrast under control without flattening the light.
After a quick wardrobe adjustment — swapping a misfitting shirt for a skirt and reverting to the previous top — we locked in a final composition. I backed up slightly to get more of her pose into the frame and made subtle tweaks until everything clicked.
The final image brought together bold color contrast, clean posing, and controlled lighting for a vibrant, fresh portrait that captured exactly the feeling we were aiming for.
