Member Exclusive: Model Portfolio Building Part 1

Classic hollywood headshot of CHicago model Etherio Noon Film Noir Portrait Lighting Tutorial Using 6 Hard LightsDuring my first shoot with Etherio he mentioned that he was excited to have my images in his portfolio, because he was trying to rebuild it from the ground up. Given that our first shoot was a success, I decided to help him out and bring you a long through the process.

So after looking at his modeling agency portfolio and his Instagram and considering what he said he wanted to accomplish, we set up another shoot.

Regardless of their gender models need images that are more basic in their approach to show perspective clients how their body looks in clothing and how they look close up. So given that we had the closeups covered from our first shoot (right) I decided that he needed some images that looked like they were from a catalog, that is what you will see here in part 1. And then I decided he could use a little more flare and that is what you will see in part 2.

Of course after I edited the videos I realized that what he could also use are some black and white hard light full body portraits with a dark gray background. Plus he could use some very basic brightly colored T-shirt images. Maybe there will be a Part 3.

Part 2 will post next week.
