This part of the shoot showcases Jason as the subject, highlighting his unique style and the creative process behind capturing striking hair portraits.
In this behind-the-scenes journey, I’ll share my approach to lighting, including the strategic use of a beauty dish to highlight Jason’s face and a large softbox without diffusion to create a crisp, textured light for his hair. Watch as I meticulously adjust the lighting setup, incorporating a flag to control background light and a 10-degree grid to focus the backlight, ensuring the perfect blend of light and shadow. The use of a Tiffin 82mm Black Pro-Mist filter on my 85mm lens adds a subtle, cinematic flare to the images, enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Throughout the video, I provide valuable insights and tips, demonstrating how to balance creativity with technical precision. By reviewing shots in real-time and making on-the-fly adjustments, I ensure each image meets my high standards. This session showcases the importance of preparation, collaboration, and adaptability in achieving stunning results.
