In today’s video, we’re going to learn how to profile your camera to get accurate color in Capture One.

Start by taking photo of your color checker and then import it into capture one.

Under base characteristics click on ICC profile and then navigate to effect – no color correction. Then change the curve to linear response.

Then in the process recipe tab, Press the plus Icon and make a new recipe called TIFF 16-Bit X-rite.

Set the format to Tiff, options to uncompressed, and switch the ICC profile to embed camera profile and process the file.

Next, Quit Capture One.

Now open the color checker camera calibration software.

First chose the ICC-tiff tab and then drag and drop the file you processed from Capture One.

The camera calibration software will automatically detect the color checker. Then click create profile. Name it, and save it to the default. Press Ok.

Now launch capture one.

Select a photo that you want to edit, then under base characteristics click on ICC profile and you’ll find our custom profile under other.

Having extremely accurate color is great if the project desmans it, but it might not be aesthetically the most pleasing choice. So you might want to use one of the camera profiles that are already built into Capture One.
