Chicago Food Photographer: Food photography used to not be my thing, but now I love it. After shooting several Chicago restaurant review photos, I leaned how much fun it can be to make colorful compositions out of bite sized morsels and plates of picturesque protein.
I’ve used window light and I have simulated window light, but for this shoot showcasing the new restaurant Polanco, a Latino steakhouse in Logan Square, I decided to create light that was more reminiscent of dinnertime.

Once I shot a fair portion of the menu, I created their website too. Which I hoped would not only showcase their cuisine, but that it would do it in a way that would cause visitors to their website to become guests in their restaurant, regardless of wether they were viewing it on a computer, iPad or mobile device.
In case you were looking for a place to go this Sunday, the drink and brunch menus will be added soon.
