Five years ago this week I covered an event that was a game changer for me: Gay Games VII.
It’s hard to believe that it was seven years ago today that I photographed a protest for marriage equality in Chicago. It seemed like a place as liberal as Illinois would have civil unions in no time at all, but it took until June 2011 for us to have these rights.
There is just something about Bill Clinton. Its really interesting to see a man who was once the man, chill, relaxed, confident…. knowing hes revered…. sitting back in his chair, listening intently and showing off his casual lefty bracelet.
Over 30 same-sex couples tied the knot this morning in Chicago’s Millennium Park on the first day for civil unions in Illinois.
I had a lot of fun with this shoot… it took a little bit of time getting the dress and the hair just right. I used two light for this shot, a beauty dish right above the camera and a second light illuminating the white wall behind her.
