Today, when photographing Dupont Pioneer President Paul Schickler for an environmental portrait to match an interview, I started looking around the office building where the interview would take place for a backdrop. I left home today with two pieces of mail. One a DVD I sold on ebay and the other a disc of images for a client. That may seem mundane enough, except I took it to a protest of postal workers and waded through the crowd to place it in a blue box. Once my hands were free, I got to work capturing the very same people who would probably help deliver my items.
I recently purchases a metallic lined Profoto Magnum Reflector which creates harsh shadows and brilliant highlights. For its debut shoot I decided to go with monochromatic styling against a white wall to create contrast in addition to the contrast created by the reflector.
