Headshots: Personal Trainer Michael Elder

I recently worked with Chicago personal trainer Michael Elder to create new images for his online marketing. This was our second shoot and I really enjoyed trying out some new lighting setups for the image below to really make his pictures pop!

When I show this image come together in the camera, I immediately thought of a facebook timeline picture.

My approach for this image was very simple, just one large light overhead to simulate a skylight.

I wanted to help michael connect with his clients by proving that he can walk the walk, so I used a strong overhead light to sculpt his body, a second light to light his face and a third light to give his left side a nice edge.
