Chicago Civil Union photographer John Gress specializes in gay and lesbian Civil Union and Wedding ceremonies as well as the celebrations and parties that mark the special event, as you can see by viewing his portfolio above. John photographed the first couples in Illinois to receive Civil Union licenses. He also documented the first mass ceremony presided over by the mayor of Chicago and Governor of Illinois of civil unions between gay and lesbian couples in Chicago. John was able to capture the pent-up emotions that burst forth from the couples, many of whom have waited decades for this moment to declare openly and legally their love for one another in front of friends and family.
John is one of the few photographers in the country who specializes in gay and lesbian civil unions and marriages, however, he is delighted to work with any couple on their special day. With his exquisite artistry for composition, color and light, John will capture all the intimate moments that make up your special day.
